How does Salsify pricing work?

May 22, 2022

Salsify does not publish a price list. As a SaaS application, Salsify is priced on a subscription basis and quoted for each customer, and the price is a function of scale and complexity: how many SKUs you manage, how many product categories you model, how many channels you publish to and how complex your integrations are. Seats, the support agreement and add-on entitlements, such as analytics and enhanced content, also count. Some customers get their Salsify license plus the build, with an implementation partner like Sitation, for around $50K. The total goes up with more SKUs, categories or channels, or with complex integrations.

What drives Salsify pricing

  • SKUs and product records: how many products and variants you manage in the platform.
  • Categories: each product category brings its own attributes and content requirements to model and maintain.
  • Channels: the number of retailers, marketplaces and sites you publish product content to.
  • Integrations: connections to your ERP, DAM, commerce platform and supplier feeds. Complex integrations add cost to both the subscription scope and the build.
  • Seats, support and entitlements: the people who log in to Salsify, the level of support you contract for, and add-ons such as analytics and enhanced content.

The clearer you are about these numbers before you talk to Salsify, the more accurate your quote will be. Count the products and variants you plan to load, the categories they fall into, the teams that will work in the platform and the retailers and channels you need to reach.

Plan the license and the implementation together

The subscription covers the platform. Setting it up, including your data model, imports from ERP and supplier files, digital assets, and channel and retailer connections, is project work that grows with the same scale and complexity. Sitation is a Salsify Platinum partner with more than 200 Salsify implementations, and can help define scope, plan your Salsify implementation and size your plan. After launch, our Salsify managed services team can run day-to-day product content operations for you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Salsify cost?

Salsify quotes each customer individually and does not publish prices. Cost is a function of scale and complexity. Some customers get their Salsify license plus implementation with a partner like Sitation for around $50K, and the total goes up with more SKUs, categories or channels, or with complex integrations. What is Salsify PIM pricing based on?

Scale and complexity: the number of SKUs and product records, categories, channels and integrations, plus seats, the support agreement and any add-on entitlements, such as analytics or enhanced content.

Does the Salsify subscription include implementation?

No. The subscription covers the software. Configuring your data model, integrations and channels is a separate project, scoped with Salsify or with an implementation partner such as Sitation. Plan the two together so your budget reflects the full cost.

How can I get the right Salsify price for my business?

Define your scope first: product and variant counts, categories, the number of users, the channels you need to reach, the systems you need to integrate and the add-ons you actually need. A partner who has implemented Salsify many times can help you size each of these. Talk to Sitation about scoping your Salsify plan.
